Don Young - Personal Trainer

At the age of 14 I started to exercise with weights to build muscle for high school football. I played on a championship high school football team. After high school, I attended Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1983. While working as a sales engineer in 1991, I investigated the opportunity of opening a gym, but was unable to because of financing. I then started my own structural engineering business. Having sold that in 2008, I pursued my dream of becoming a Certified Personal Trainer.

I started my lifestyle change in 1991. Weighing in at 225 lbs. with 40% body fat and a 38 inch waistline, I was headed in the wrong direction. With assistance from a personal trainer, in 6 months I started to shed my weight and reshape my body. With persistence and a hard work ethic I have been able to maintain my current body weight of 170 lbs. I enjoy playing competitive golf, hiking, walking my (3) dogs with my wife, reading fiction and civil war history, and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle!

As an A.C.E.-certified professional I will strive to provide safe and effective instruction to my clients. My objective is to assist my clients in obtaining their personal goals. Because every individual has different body types and goals, I will be able to personalize a training program tailored to your precise needs and desires, assuring progress without exhaustion. You’ll learn the safest and most effective way to perform each movement.

A personal trainer is not a luxury; it’s a great investment in your health and wellbeing! Ask any fitness expert and the answer is always the same. The best way to get started on an exercise program is to use a personal trainer. I will work intensively with individual clients to design the exercise program best suited to that client’s needs and objectives, and then supervise every workout to assure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Workouts are fun and safe, leaving you feeling exhilarated, not exhausted.

Clients with medical conditions get a program coordinated with their doctor or physical therapist. I am experienced in dealing with a wide range of exercise limitations.
