Agnes F. Schrider, PT

Agnes F. Schrider, PT is the owner of Nelson Physical Therapy. She graduated from University of Maryland in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She worked for Johns Hopkins Medical Center from 1986- 1990 on neurological service treating stroke and head trauma patients. She also served as the senior therapist for the neurological service. In 1988, she switched to the Outpatient service. She became a clinical instructor for physical therapy interns.
In 1990, Agnes went to work for Violand and McNerney, PC, a private practice in Ellicott City, Maryland for one year. She treated orthopedic and sports injuries and also treated clients in nursing home settings and in patients’ own homes.
From 1991- 1996, Agnes worked for Fine, Bryant and Wah (now NovaCare) a private practice with three offices. She was the Clinical Coordinator for the intern program, mentor for all new staff members, assistant manager for one of the offices and later a manager for the Baltimore location.
In the Autumn of 1996, Agnes relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia and accepted a position with Spectrum Therapy. From 1996 to 1998, she treated clients in the home in Orange, Albemarle, Louisa, Buckingham and Nelson counties. In 1998, Spectrum Therapy opened a clinic in Nellysford and Agnes was promoted to manage that clinic. She developed and managed the clinic until August of 2001.

Personal:
As the daughter of a Foreign Service Officer for the United States Agency of International Development, Agnes spent much of her childhood overseas in Nigeria, Liberia, Laos, Barbados, and Swaziland. She attended Mercersberg Academy and graduated in 1981. When in the USA, she resided in Maryland.
Her love of the outdoors brought her to Virginia to be near beautiful hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, and traveling. She also enjoys cycling, golf, swimming and gardening, reading and writing. Her passion is fitness and enjoying time with her family in Afton, Virginia.

Jean Momorella, MPT
|

|
Jean Momorella graduated from Shenandoah University in 1996 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. After graduating she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to work in the VA Hospital. At the VA, Jean was in charge of student instruction, wound care management and optimizing computer programs for physical medicine and rehabilitation. During this time, she also became certified in personal training went to work for the International Weight Lifting Association teaching classes to other therapists around the country.
In 1997, she and her husband moved to Raleigh, N.C. where Jean worked for WakeMed and the Durham North Carolina VA. As a member of the cardiac, neurology and orthopedics teams, she worked with a variety of patients in acute care and in outpatient orthopedic clinics.
Last September, Jean joined the Nelson Physical Therapy team.
When she is not working at Nelson P.T., Jean is taking care of her daughters. She resides in Crozet with her husband, two daughters and two dogs.

Laura Coleman, PT, ATC
|

|
Laura Coleman is a former private practice owner of 12 years. She started Spectrum Therapy with a partner in 1989 and grew it to 7 outpatient clinics and a home health division serving 15 counties. In 1992, Laura became a board certified Sports Physical Therapy Specialist and later served as part of the medical team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. In addition to providing patient care, she also served as an Ergonomic Consultant to General Motors, touring their plants in the Southeastern U.S.
Prior to selling her practice in 2001, Laura was responsible for strategic growth, marketing, finance, information systems and provider contracting. After the sale of the business, she developed her own consulting firm, Health Fusion Partners. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Shenandoah University’s School of Physical Therapy.
She treats patients and provides fitness consultations at Nelson Physical Therapy between her own consulting work.

Annie T. Carter, PTA
|

|
Annie T. Carter graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1994 with a B.A. degree in Sociology. She continued her education at Volunteer State College in Gallatin, Tennessee and graduated with an A.A degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program.
She has worked as a PTA in a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, long term skilled care and outpatient orthopedics.
Annie and her husband lived in Nashville, Tennessee for 5 years before heading out west to Rock Springs, Wyoming for 2 years. They finally settled in Virginia and started their family. She joined the Nelson Physical Therapy team in January 2005 and now resides in Afton, Virginia with her husband, 2 sons and golden retriever. Annie's interests include running, hiking, strength training and tennis.
